In an article for Thrive Global by Arianna Huffington about “Technoference,” and how screens are disrupting our relationship with our children, Dr. Tracy Dennis-Tiwary is quoted regarding a study which created a digital disruption of the Still Face Paradigm—a phenomenon dating back to 1975 that suggests parental withdrawal may have negative consequences for children’s social-emotional development. “Results suggest that, like other forms of maternal withdrawal and unresponsiveness, mobile device use can have a negative impact on infant social-emotional
functioning and parent-child interactions,” Dr. Dennis-Tiwary says.
