What does it take psychologically to carry out one of the most dangerous spacewalks in history? During Brainwave 2014 at the Rubin Museum of Art, Dr. Tracy Dennis-Tiwary sat down with Dr. Scott Parazynski, the astronaut who performed a spacewalk farther than any other orbiting astronaut. Attached to the end of a 90-foot robotic boom, Dr. Parazynski had to repair a live solar array on the International Space Station during the October 2007 STS-120 mission. Dr. Dennis-Tiwary spoke to Dr. Parazynski about the mindset, focus, and balance necessary to conduct this mission.
